MODEL SHOOTS I WORKED ON!

MODEL: AMBER ALLISON
LOCATION:UPTOWN CHARLOTTE
DUTIES: FASHION STYLIST & CREATIVE CONSULTANT

FABRIC+NO SCISSORS+CREATIVITY=FABOULOUS

In 2008 I had Yellow, Purple, and Turquoise fabric laying around and I wanted to be creative. I took the fabric; draped and pinned it around Lolita (mannequin) to make very different looks. Here is a couple I created. before Amber Rose

MIXIN AND (UN)MATCHIN

This look was created in 2007. The top is a vintage Polo (Ralph Lauren) shirt from the thrift store. I purchased this before the world went plaid crazy. Anywho I loved the color as well as the pattern. I made into a dress on Lolita (mannequin) and matched it with a brown belt and a string on pearls. Of course the leopard print tights was my signature piece back in 2007. I love the dynamic of plaid pattern and the leopard print pattern together. I like to try to match items that some people might not think about.

Me back in 2007 wearing the shirt with the belt.

SORRY PETA BUT THIS IS FIERCE!

I found this fox fur when I was looking in my mother's many closets. I loved this fur coat but I have never worn it because it does not get that cold in VA. I matched the fur with a brown leather corset belt and a large gold link chain. I remember after I created this look I saw Keyshia Cole with a similar outfit on on 106 & Park. She had a fur vest with a corset belt. But I love this look.

POSH DOLCE

There is a funny story behind this outfit. :I was shopping with my friend at the thrift store which is my favorite place to shop. I was cruising the racks and I picked these ruffle satin pants. I was like, I can rock these or make it into something. My friend was like, no I think you are over doing it, those are not cute. Which made me want to get them even more ( i love doubters):

Initially I made those pants into a high waisted skirt which I wore for my 25th Birthday (shown below).

When I put it on Lolita ( my mannequin) it was a dress and I matched it with a red stretch leather belt with a vintage Gucci bag that my mother bought in 80's from Germany.

CORPORATE DIVA!

This is one on my favorite looks that I created back in 2007. I made this skirt out of fabric from a local fabric store. I loved the tye dye print as well as the color blend. At first I was going to make a cute summer dress but I thought that would be an obvious choice. So I then I thought it would be more appealing as an high waisted skirt. I matched with a simple button up collar shirt with a statement piece necklace from my mother's jewelry box.

"MADONNA IN THE 80'S"

Back in 2007 I was really inspired by the 80's. I was inspired back when Madonna first came on the scene. Her style was HOT. I bought the gloves back in 2005 at Claire's Boutique and the rest of the clothes were from my closet. The shirt is Express and the skirt is Old Navy. I am a huge fan of off the shoulder skirts. I think I achieved the look I was going for.

A STROLL ON RODEO

I made this back in 2007 when I first bought my mannequin (I named her Lolita). I made this dress and added the turquoise fabric as a "pop" color. I actually hand made the bow and rose belt out of the left over fabric.

9 to 5 in the Spring Time

I actually hand made this look with fabric around the house. I wanted to create a new look for the working women in the spring time. At first I just had the white skirt with the blue top, then I knew I had to take a little further so I made the plaid skirts as well as the neck piece.

STUDIO 54 SOCIALITE

My inspiration was thinking back to disco, studio 54 era. I actually took a H&M stretch scarf and some red fabric to pull off this look. I was always a fan of hot pants and halters and I wanted to create an one piece romper set with this look. I added the leopard print tights to give it some edge. I created this look in 2007 hence the leopard print tights from Express.
